There are many worrisome moments throughout a parent’s life, but one occasion that usually pushes stress levels to the limit is the teenager in the family becoming a new driver and hitting the open road all alone.
With General Motor’s Teen Driver Technology, parents can have peace of mind as the technology encourages safe driving habits. Parent’s can set a maximum speed alert and a maximum volume for music. They can also review their teen’s driving ‘report card’ and use the information provided to help teach better driving habits.
To ensure safety, your teen’s key fob is registered to the vehicle, so when they take it out on the road, the system will turn on, and all of the safety features will not be able to be turned off. Teen Driver in your GMC is activated whenever the car is started with a Teen Driver key.
Vehicle dependant, when Teen Driver is active, the following safety features cannot be turned off:
- Stability Control
- Traction Control
- Daytime Running Lamps
- Forward Automatic Braking
- Forward Collision Alert
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Reverse Automatic Braking

- Front and Rear Park Assist
